Who is eligible for the 2015 Ashford University Teacher Appreciation Scholarship Program?
Public and private school teachers currently employed full- or part-time in San Diego County are eligible to apply.
How many recipients will be chosen, and what does the scholarship provide?
A total of four (4) scholarships will be awarded. Each award consists of a scholarship for tuition toward the pursuit of an online graduate degree in education at Ashford, as well as textbooks and course digital materials for the recipients’ chosen degree program.  
Can I select any degree program?
No, the recipients of this scholarship are eligible to select either the Master of Arts in Education or the Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology. In the state of California, programs are delivered via distance education.
How many times can I submit an entry?
There is a limit of one entry per person and per email address. Applicants who submit multiple entries will be disqualified.
How can I apply?
Applicants will be required to provide their name, address, telephone number, school site location, school district, and school or district email address through the form on the Entry Site. Online responses to three essay questions are required. Complete the online entry form at in its entirety. All submitted essay responses must be in English and no longer than 750 words per question. If a response to an essay question is longer than 750 words, only the first 750 words will be judged. When is the deadline to apply?
The entry period for all applications ends at 5:00 pm (PST) on January 11, 2015.
How are the recipients chosen?
A total of four (4) recipients will be selected by a scholarship committee designated by Ashford University. The judges will score each essay based on the essay's relevance to the topic, its originality, and its overall impression. In the event of a tie, the tied applicant with the higher "overall impression" score, as determined by the judges, will be selected as the recipient. The judges' decisions are final and binding in all respects.
When will the recipients be notified?
Scholarship recipients will be notified by phone on or about January 30, 2015. If the recipient is unreachable after forty-eight hours, that person may be disqualified and a new recipient will be chosen. Will my personal information be used for any other reason?
Information collected through the Entry Site shall be subject to Ashford University’s privacy policy, which can be viewed at Applicants acknowledge that representatives of Ashford may contact them about enrollment opportunities at Ashford and may contact them with future communications and offers.
